"Final Destination" Opening Death Scenes Collection

Posted by Maki On Tuesday, June 29, 2010 0 comments

When we talk about death scenes, Final Destination franchise is the leader in bringing one. They have proven it through ages. Whether it’s getting fried in a tanning bed, pumped full of nails from a nail gun, flattened with a huge glass plate, nailed by flying debris at a NASCAR race, or choking in a bathtub , Final Destination knows something about getting people killed. Now in their fifth installment, weirdly renamed 5nal Destination, new death scenes will be expected and they are promised to be bloodier than before!

The new opener will have some unsuspecting young teenager, who’s dodged death more than once, get flattened by a suspension bridge. I can’t even imagine the machinations and horrifically bad luck needed to bring down a suspension bridge on some kid, but no doubt 5nal Destination has a gory storyboard down pat at this point.

Steven Quale (worked under James Cameron on Avatar) will direct the fifth installment on Final Destination franchise. And just for those wanting a little taste of the other opening scenes from Final Destinations gone by, here is a great video montage.

"Rango" centers on a chameleon who’s going through an identity crisis and embarks on a cross-country journey where he ends up in the dangerous SouthWest territory. Instead of the animals being portrayed as creatures in the wild they’re given human characteristics, a cowboy/mariachi wardrobe, and a Western genre vibe.

"Rango" is directed by Gore Verbinski ( Pirates Of The Caribbean) and features voice acting from Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Bill Nighy, Stephen Root, Ray Winstone, Beth Grant, Ned Beatty, Harry Dean Stanton, and Alfred Molina and is scheduled to hit theaters in March 4, 2011.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I will be released on November 19, 2010 while Part II will hit the big screens on July 15, 2011.

The two films, directed by David Yates, are coming to 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Alan Rickman, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith and Helena Bonham Carter.

In my opinion, there is no shocking factor in this weekend's US Box Office ranking. "Toy Story 3" on top for the two consecutive weeks is already given, I never doubted that scenario. But with the entry of "The Last Airbender" and "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" this week, I think the ranking next weekend will surely be in chaos!

Here is US Weekend's Box Office for June 25-27:

  1. Toy Story 3 - $59,000,000
  2. Grown Ups - $41,000,000
  3. Knight and Day - $20,500,000
  4. The Karate Kid - $15,400,000
  5. The A-Team - $6,000,000
  6. Get Him to the Greek - $3,010,000
  7. Shrek Forever After - $2,875,000
  8. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - $2,801,000
  9. Killers - $2,000,000
  10. Jonah Hex - $1,600,000

While waiting for the trailer of the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1", here are some photos from the most awaited seventh installment of the Harry Potter franchise. Enjoy!

Regarding the trailer, here is a spoiler:

Bellatrix LeStrange laughs hysterically at Malfoy’s Manor. While Voldemort’s voice calls whispers HP’s in Voice-over.

Maturing Potter, Ron, Hermione running from something in London; over green hills outside country; HP and Ginny kiss.

Ron and Harry yelling at each other, while arguing over family. Voldemort holds Harry’s chin in his hands…very creepy there is a mixture of Ralph Fiennes and the standard trailer voice-over…not the same voice saying title

A very tall dark wizard on traintrack while the #Hogwarts Express approaches quickly..

Franchise of our “generation” It is the most financially successful franchise in film history, beating Bond and Rings.

Voldemort and Harry fighting each other at fallen Hogwarts. Also a dragon taking off to fly around.

Lots of action Voldemort and Harry blasting spells from their wands at each other! Also very emotional scenes and romance…

Voldemort and HP fight blasting their wands for few seconds at the end o/t teaser right before the title credit HarryPotter.

Remus Lupin will also have a brief scene where he is yelling at HP to stay away from the fight…

Mrs. Weasley is in shot towards the end of the teaser when the editing becomes very rapid & it shows many characters.

The teaser has scenes of both #HarryPotter I & II. In a few months there’ll be a trailer for I & after that release, a second trailer for II.

Another Summit Entertainment special on its way, introducing the first official trailer of Bruce Willis' Red! "Red" is based on a DC Comics graphic novel. Talk about DC Comics being so active nowadays!

Frank, Joe, Marvin, and Victoria used to be the CIA’s top agents — but the secrets they know just made them the Agency’s top targets. Now framed for assassination, they must use all of their collective cunning, experience and teamwork to stay one step ahead of their deadly pursuers and stay alive. To stop the operation, the team embarks on an impossible, cross-country mission to break into the top-secret CIA headquarters, where they will uncover one of the biggest conspiracies and cover-ups in government history.

The film is directed by Robert Schwentke, stars Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Karl Urban, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Richard Dreyfuss and Brian Cox. The movie opens in theaters on October 15, 2010.

"Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is undeniably one of the most anticipated movie this year. But if you read the book then what should you expec on the moviet? Are there any scenes that you think shouldn't be missed out? Will you be mad if you they won't show up? Well, if you are really an avid "Twilight Saga" fan then this list from Reelzchannel will surely satisfy you!

1. Character Flashbacks
In Eclipse, we finally get to hear Jasper and Rosalie's stories. Jasper's crescent-like scars are explained and we see him meeting Alice for the first time. Rosalie's past is a little more dramatic, with a nasty fiancĂ© and his friends all but killing her. Keeping these chapters in the movie will allow for some awesome historical scenes, and might even gain Rosalie some fans. Plus, Jasper's story is kind of crucial to Eclipse — it explains newborns and the older vampire's allegiance to the Volturi.

2. Chapter 15 "Wager"
This chapter has everything: Jacob kissing Bella against her wishes, Bella punching Jacob and breaking her hand, and Edward gallantly stepping up to defend his woman. Here's hoping Melissa Rosenberg writes this whole chapter into the screenplay — especially Edward's "If you ever kiss her again, I will break your jaw for her" line. There's no doubt about it: theater audiences would swoon.

3. Chapter 22 "Fire and Ice"
In this fan-favorite chapter, Edward and Jacob have a man-to-man talk and come to a Bella-related compromise. They're not quite friends, but they're almost there and no longer want to rip each other's head off. Any scene that will allow Robert Pattinson to talk about Edward's jealousy and love for Bella is bound to be a crowd pleaser. We can already hear the contented sighs from his legions of female fans as he stares moodily into the camera…

4. Bella's Proposal Acceptance
In chapter 20, "Compromise," Bella finally agrees to marry Edward after a long discussion about demands, immortality, and the losing of one's virtue. Fans were ecstatic when Bella finally answered their prayers and committed herself to Edward — their only question was, what on earth took her so long?

5. The Final Fight with Victoria
There's an awesome showdown at the end of Eclipse, which sees Victoria and her newborn army up against the wolves and the Cullens. There's action, suspense, surprise...everything a good battle needs. It's arguably the best action scene in the whole of The Twilight Saga and will give the guys a reason to keep watching. Hot female vampires and an undead death or two — what more could they want?

Seth Rogen and Jay Chou's photos are now out to satisfy "Green Hornet" fans out there!

In the film, Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles’ largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). They realize that they have the resources to do something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid’s shadow.

Kato builds the ultimate weapon, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car with every weapon and gadget imaginable and Britt decides that in order to be heroes, they will pose as villains. With the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). He has united all the gangs under his power, and he quickly sees that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to the prosperous criminal underworld he controls.

Green Hornet also include stars such as Cameron Diaz, Edward Furlong, Edward James Olmos, Chad Colema, Sterling Cooper, Analeigh Tipton, David Harbour and Eddie Rouse. According to Sony Pictures, it will be released on both 2D and 3D on January 14, 2011.

But I can't still find a good and sound reason why I should watch this in 3D!

Here is the first official trailer of "Green Hornet":

"Toy Story 3" Movie Review

Posted by Maki On Sunday, June 20, 2010 0 comments

TSL Rating: 4.7 / 5.0
"Toy Story 3" is definitely and non-arguably one of the best movies of this year. For me there are lots of memories in this franchise since I watched the first and second parts years ago and now having the third part, after years, brought everything back as it doubled the excitement. The storyline is simple yet effective. Kudos to the people behind this movie because it includes a lot of heart. The movie is also not trying hard to impress its audience, instead it just delivered basic fun but with a lasting effect.

We all know the plot, I think. In "Toy Story 3", Woody and friends were all donated to Sunnyside day care because Andy is already going to college. But there are events which happened prior to the donation which is pertinent to the toys' fate. I will not unveil them so that you can discover yourself the real reason why they are donated.

Then the chaos started on the Sunnyside day care center. Again, most of your expectations are incorrect about this supposed to be toy-friendly place. Fun and chaos emerged on different scenes, and may I repeat that those funny moments are simply orchestrated yet very effective. Those unforgettable scenes include Ken and Barbie's moments, Mr. Potato in a cucumber and a Flamenco Buzz Lightyear!

Next is the escape part of the movie wherein Woody and friends will attempt to get back to Andy before his departure time. This is the most intense part of the movie and I can say that their escape plan is a bit clever for a toy! The rest is history and a must see. You'll really enjoy it.

The last part is Andy's departure. When he was reminiscing his past with the toys, I was affected. It was really touching and if you are really a Toy Story fan, you will be sad thinking that this franchise will come to an end. You will also remember as an audience the moments that you spent when you watched Toy Story 1 and 2 and everything is emotional.

If in case it will be the farewell movie for the Toy Story franchise then I can confidently say that it is indeed a very memorable one and most, if not all, viewers will surely miss this series.
